Write a Tutorial on How to Apply Collaborative Filtering to Your Data

Using the same application and data that you have chosen in Homework 1, write a technical tutorial/blog (>250 words) documenting how you would apply any of the recommendation techniques covered in class (including collaborative filtering) to your data. If the data you have chosen is not amenable to recommendation applications, you can choose an alternate data set (see the Projects/Data Sets page).

The following questions could serve as a guide (but you do not have to address all of them in your tutorial).

• what recommendations would the data support? (a product? a service? a social club? a job opportunity?)
• how could the recommendations be personalized?
• what information in the data would likely influence the recommendations?
• how would you preprocess the data to extract the relevant information?
• how would you evaluate the quality of the recommendations?

You are expected to actually write Python code to perform the analysis and document the whole process, so that you can refer to it after you graduate!
